How can I help my children learn English?

What are good programs for children to learn english? I have some cartoon movies that my children watch but I was wondering if there are good games or activities that could help them also?

I think the best show that was actually produced for this issue is "sesame street" . Try to get the English versions of it.

If you are looking for something that will combine Spanish and English then try:

The best thing for young children is to provide time for them to be immeresed in the language you want them to learn.  So cartoons could be part of that, but really for a specific period of time each day they should be immeresed in the language.

Cartoons can be a part of it, but the best thing you can do is provide an immersion experience.  For a specific minimum period of time each day, they should be in a completely English speaking environment.

Hi,

If it's from spanish to english, try Dora the explorer. They have those videos in Spanish that gradually teach kids English(and vice versa). My 4 year old sister learned quite a lot of spanish from those. If not , read simple picture books to them in English, slowly finding books with more challenging English vocabulary. The way to learn a new language is learning a few simple terms, then gradually building up from that.Hearing you pronounce each word, and encouraging them to do so too, will kick-star their learning.Try speaking words they know at home too, making english not seem so foreign. Good luck!

Dora the Explorer is good and less expensive for children and adults too to learn english . If you can afford it go to an english speaking country, children have the ability to pick up a language very quickly.

You can help at home, label the objects you have at home, such as the fridge, microwave, tv; number the stairs. So, he can remember that in any action he does during the day. That will be an good starting.
