Sweden

He vanished from sweden around 1910-1920.

I am 100% sure that he immigrate to USA. My granddad told my mother that he had a brother in USA. The only person who vanished is Rikard petrus Andersson.

I wonder if he is in some census like 1920´s or 1930´s.

All help are needed.

I have search for this ancestor over two years.

regards

Lennart Lindkvist

Unfortunately, there is no national census index that covers the entire U.S.  Do you know what state they came to or died?  I looked on the Social Security  Death Index for all the males you provided and none were listed.  The SS Death Index is a list of all persons who had SS benefits when they passed away.  Most everyone had a social security number and if they came to the US, but I'm not sure if they had to have one that long ago.  However, there are a lot of individuals on the index who were born way before 1900.  If they worked, I'm sure they would have had to apply for one.   I did not look up the females because they were probably listed under their married names.  That's why the name of the possible state would help.

Treat others like you self would like to be treated.

Hello Letully.

First of all. I will thank you that you take of your time to help me.

Unfortunatly I don´t have much information regarding Richard. I think that he Immigrate 1917 due to relatives to him back in days told that he vanished from sweden at this time. I don´t think that he immigrate through the regular channels such Ellis Islands. Some people here told that they have find a Richard nderson with same date of birth and year of birth.

This is the info I got.

>>>After I posted to you, I realized (duh) you are in Sweden. I found a lot of possibles. Particularly a man (Richard P. Anderson, born the correct yr, from Sweden, correct parish)who was a reservist during the second World War and was called up, it seems that He would have been to old to be called up. I need to find out. I know they called up some pretty old guys. Anyway, this man is MIA. There are many other possibles. do you have any other information on his relatives, so that if I happen to connect to a tree someone here has put together I can verify that it is Him?<<<

If a person is MIA, then he not will be on any list of SS?

The problem is that I don´t understand what Yada Yada actually mean or how to look further in this case. I think that my Richard might have worked him over on a boat or vessel to USA.

The year 1917 it´s of importence because hes dad died this year, so he have might think that nothing held him back in sweden even if he had brothers and sister back home. His mother have died earlier.

A women named Mary Lou is also trying to help me. I am glad that there is so many kind people here on Yedda who actually will try to help me. The problem is that I can´t search by my self when I sitting in Sweden.

I really apreciate all help I get

Thank you and have a great day

regards

Lennart

In the 1930 Federal Census, Waukegan, Lake, ILL

Anderson, Andrew, b. abt 1853 in Sweden, age 77, widower, immigrated 1895

Anderson, Anna, b. abt. 1874 in Sweden, age 56, daughter-in-law, widow,

immig. 1896

Anderson, Richard, b. abt 1908 in ILL, age 22, son, sales clerk/grocery store

Anderson, Arthur, b. abt 1908, age 22, son, chauffeur/grocery store

Anderson, Margaret, b. abt. 1913, daughter, attending school

This family spoke English and Swedish, could read and write, and Andrew and Anna were naturalized citizens.

Could this be your Anders Gustav Anderson, born May 3, 1857?  It is not unusual for the census to be "off" a few years on year of birth.  It is also possible that Richard and Arthru (twins) and Margaret were sons and daughter of Anna and grandchildren of Andrew???  Since Margaret was only 17, I would think she would more likely be Anna's child.  Andrew would have been 60 when she was born.

I did not find your Richard Petrus Anderson in this census, but have not looked in the 1910 and 1920 ones.  If this Andrew immigrated in 1895, I could also check the 1900 census.
