Can a hearing date be changed without my consent in Washington State Courts?

Attorney's secretary called to inform a hearing had be set aside for from 10/20 to 10/29. I received not notice only a call to my home phone. Can the attorney simply call and reschedule without my consent? I have heard nothing from the court.
