Anyone had or heard of this problem?
I looked at a 1992 GMC long-wheel-base pick-up today.... Body is in good shape interior too. It's a 5spd. Guy claimed that the 4wd worked, till he had the clutch replaced. Doesnt have the old style lockers. Has the floor-board shifter. I havent worked on any trucks 4wd past a year model of 1986 as far as a chevy goes. So wondered what the mechanic could have messed up.... or how hard a fix this would be....
On this vehicle I think the 4wd is controlled electrically. If the transmission was removed to install a clutch then the transfercase was removed as well. check all the electrical connections around the transfercase. Check the linkage and verify it is moving and/or connected to the transfercase correctly.-Mike

yeah was what I was thinking.... I was kinda in a hurry so didnt bother asking the owner if I could crawl under and take a look.
Check the vacume line from the transfer case too the front axel and vacume canisters. there was a recall on some of the 92 gm 4x4s (trucks/blazers) I am certain it is a vacume line.
