May The Horse Be With You !

Research shows that Yes , pets do help us live longer , healthier lives .  Reducing loneliness , depression , blood pressure , heart rate , cholesterol levels and heart disease .  They also provide us with companionship , unconditional love , and in some cases a feeling of safety .  It has been written that our pets increase and improve our quality of life emotionally , spiritually and phychologically .  I have a friend who uses her miniature horses to visit nursing homes , it is amazing to see watch the interaction between the horses and the residents , there is an immediate difference in them  . I work with mentally and physically challenged children with horses , with the same results , they come alive .  Personally having horses , dogs , goats and cats  I am a firm believer that pets are one of the best preventive medicine's available in the world . Not to mention they are also some of the best psychologist in the world .  I have found that I actually like and trust animals more than some people I have come across .  It is hard to beat the love of our pets and the love of a good man .  I am blessed and thankful for both .

Yes, I definitely believe your family pet can make you "feel" healthier, because it's concerns are the uppermost in your mind and your health is no longer your concern.

There is a significant amount of medical research to show that looking after a pet can be good for a person's mental health as well as reducing blood pressure.  The act of being responsible for a dependant animal enables us to find a meaning and feeling of being needed.  Cats and dogs in particular are shown to reduce high blood pressure by their unconditional love and stroking.  Many medical centres now run pet visits to improve the welfare of patients.

There is a direct link between humans and their fury friends. Each can and do affect the state of each others health. Even in thought, for instance, it is important to "keep tabs" on how we think around our "little" family members because it does affect the way they feel. This, of course, applies to larger ones as well.

These fury friends not only help to promote good health they also save lives. They can give a lonely person much needed love and companionship. It is quite a phenomenon.
