30 thumbs up

Stretch marks are actually tiny tears in your skin, usually caused when the skin stretches because of growth. It can happen because of weight gain, because of pregnancy, and sometimes because of simply growing up. Some skin types are more prone to marks, so the main reason is actually your genes.

Contrary to popular conception, the marks do not disappear after losing weight or giving birth. At the most they can become less obvious.

76 thumbs up

They won't disappear completely but they can certainly become remarkably less evident.
