Its is very lethal according to the American lung association secondhand smoke fact sheet it causes approximately 3,400 lung cancer deaths and 22,700-69,600 heart disease deaths in adult nonsmokers in the United States each year !!!

It depends.  If you're a kid raised within the home of a two-pack a day couple, pretty bad.  If you just happen to be walking by a smoker and get a whiff, I wouldn't worry.
