I have especially dry eyes and for that I use a lot of eye drops, can it make it worse - I mean can it suppress my regular tears.

can to much eye drop use hurt the eyes ?

Some eyedrops , mainly artificial tears if you are a dry eyed person, contain  preservatives such as benzalkonium hexachloride they do damage the cornea if you use the drops more then 4 times a day. Make sure the drops you use don't contain these substances. Try this site for more info:

There is evidence of a connection between dietary fat and dry eye.  Specifically, consuming more omega-3 fat (like oily fish) can help reduce dry eye.  This approach is probably better than using artificial eye drops which contain chemicals that may damage the eye.  Here's a reference:
