Victims of circumstance owe it to fate. Victims of choice owe it to themselves.

When was the diagnosis made?

What was the Clark's level?

Metastatic disease to the spine with involvement of the nerves would be the most likely explanation. I doubt of the old fractures have anything to do with anything.

I wish you well.

Do you have an HMO? Yes, I think you should see your dermatologist and ask for his assistance in getting a sooner appointment with your orthopedist. But if your dermatologist cannot help you, I would suggest you take matters into your own hands.

Go to the orthopedist's office and ask to be seen. When they tell you that the doctor has no appointments available, tell them you'll wait. Then do it. The doctor will either be forced to see you or call security to remove you. In most cases, they'll choose to see you.

P.S. If he does see you, be prepared with everything you want to ask, as it may only be for a few minutes.

Steve Martin,  Go to the emergency room and complain of severe pain.  They will see you right away.  No matter what kind of insurance you have, they have to pay for an emergency room visit.  Some people go to the emergency room for a much smaller problem than you have.  I say go, today.
