The max I have seen is 120/280, I think this is too high to be ignored.

my name is andre neethling from hermanus in south africa. my blood pressure was recorded as 253 over 147 and iwas told by the nurses that it was not possible to live with this

andre, are you an active person and fit or would you say that you are more at home and relaxed? what do you think are factors that caused your problem? are you smoking or drinking? Do you stay indoors a lot? Do you use any other kinds of drugs that are smoked and inhaled? what do you eat? I'd like to know, I smoke pot and I freaked out tonight thinking it was laced with an upper, took my BP and found it to be at 152/112. After hearing your story, I know that I have some room before I kick the bucket..... but another great question is, how does your head feel? intense pressure? does your heart/chest hurt in any specific area? how do you feel when you are up and after, when you come down and are relaxed? I'd like to know if you get time and come back here.

My systolic was 260 last month when I drove myelf to the Emergency Room.  I don't know what the diastolic was, but I will be getting that information soon.  Of course I was going into pulmonary edema at the time and mild heart failure.  I've completely changed my diet and exercise level since then and this morning, when I did my breathing exercises, it was 115/70.  If I don't do my breathing exercises it is now 170/80 which is where the cardiologist wants it for the moment, as it gradually continues to come down.  The doc at the hospital shook his head and said, "aren't you having headaches" and I said "no", but I was extremely anxious.

I walked into the ER with 256/159. showing only a slight headache. They declaired me "in Trauma" and freaked out. Head CT, EKG revealed no damage. was in the hospital for 2 days why they tried to figure out what happend.
