Most health insurance plans do not require a medical exam prior to issuing a policy.  They do require curreent medial records, however.  If you do not have medical records, then they may require you to get an examination before they issue a policy, and this is at your expense.  Reason:  If they started just handing out policies to just anyone wh applied, nobody would apply untilthey were sick!  Once the horse is out of the barn, it is typically too late to buy medical insurance.  Just like your car, you can't buy car insurance to repair from a crash after the fact.

Every health insurance application I have ever submitted did not require an exam of any sort.  You will however be asked a whole buch of question about your health. Answer them honestly. You are better off paying a higher premium, or not paying for insurance, than having your policy rescinded for fraud when you need it most.

Usually they don't require you to have a health check up. Instead, they require that you answer certain health-related questions on the application form. They expect you to be as honest as possible because, guess what? if you are lying they will soon find out because they ALL share medical file histories among themselves about the public (even if they don't tell you).

You should look for quotes from multiple insurance companies. Try searching for Blue Cross. A lot will depend on your personal situation as far as which specific company and plan to choose but here are a few guidelines.

Choose a well known and trustworthy company and stay away from discount cards. Here are some of the top companies:

1. Blue Cross Blue Shield
2. Aetna
3. Kaiser Permanente
4. United Healthcare

You can get Health care without answering any questions, or taking any exams. No one under the age of 64 is turned down. I have it and it has worked great. Very affordable. You can get info on this Health Care by going to www.vbplans.com/hbell

Hope this will be of help to you.   Helen
