Creatine is neither an anabolic steroid nor human growth hormone. It's an organic acid that is naturally-present in the skeletal tissue of vertebrates. Your body also synthesizes creatine from three amino acids: arginine, glycine, and methionine. If you eat foods like red meat, you are already consuming creatine in your diet.
While creatine supplementation may enhance the addition of lean muscle mass as well as allow you to perform slightly more work in the gym, it is NOT considered a performance enhancing drug. It is not, for example, on the International Olympic Committee's list of banned substances. It will not make you test positive for anabolic steroids or HGh.
