A:I have Type 1 diabetes and have been taking a statin drug for over 5 years without any side effects. Since I take insulin and not Metformin, what I suggest you do is ask you doctor if there is a problem when taking these two drugs or if you are taking other medications, perhaps there is some sort of interaction that is causing problems.
