I recently went to a new doctor and noticed he was located in something called the Professional Building. I felt better right away.

I have Type 1 diabetes and have been taking a statin drug for over 5 years without any side effects. Since I take insulin and not Metformin, what I suggest you do is ask you doctor if there is a problem when taking these two drugs or if you are taking other medications, perhaps there is some sort of interaction that is causing problems.

Two different drugs two different Doctors. Statin drugs, started pain when trying to sleep in stomach, strange feeling in right temple, arms never pain when going to sleep (couldn't sleep), when walking became weak in legs, when mucles twitch happen in chest muscle I quit. felt better right away. Metformin took with food twice a day 500mg. Week one and two ok. After that I was leaving house and felt crap running down leg no other feeling. Decided if out with others better not take it. Became where I just not wanting to eat. Went to bed woke with the worst vomting and diarrhea all night. Un-like  with the flu where you feel better after you vomit I didn't. Can't tell what a mess it was. I couldn't eat or drink for a day second after still couldn't eat. Quit Metformin when I got sick. Couldn't hold it down any way. E-mailed my Dr. told her what I went thru. E-mailed back if glucose doesn't go down will add another pill. No thanks took up walking, it helped. I will never take it again. Medicine works for some, does nothing for some, and does  harm to others. They can test DNA  to see how it will work before hand. But it cost money. My Dr. Did not care, You ask straight questons about it. And get to  nothing back.  They are treating symtoms not what the cause is. No money in that.

What a story. I have learned a long time ago that up to a point doctors are very knowledgeable, but we know our bodies better then anybody else. With all the advances of modern day medicine, in so many cases often times it comes down to trial and error. Like I said in my previous post, because I don't take Metformin, I don't have any personal experiences that I could share with you, but if you ever want to discuss issues related to diabetes, please feel free to ask. If you haven't seen this web site, I suggest you take a look at it.

I am not taking any drugs. I tried to eat better and walk every day. It worked for a long time. I will look into Gastric banding next. By the way I did not take the two drugs at the same time.

Here are 2 web sites that have to do with gastric banding and Type 2 diabetes. If you do decide to go ahead with this procedure, I would be interested to hear from you, since I know several people that are thinking of having this done as well.

US Quakes Called Aftershocks from 1800s

The small earthquakes that sporadically rattle the central United States may actually be aftershocks from a few extremely large quakes that occurred in the region almost 200 years ago, according to a new study The New Madrid Earthquakes, which struck between December 1811 and February 1812, are some of the strongest seismic events ever to occur in the contiguous United States in recorded history. The heart of the seismic activity was near the town of New Madrid, Missouri, close to the Kentucky and Tennessee borders. The town has shaken with numerous earthquakes since, from tiny ones that don't cause much of a stir, to moderate sized ones, such as a 5.2 quake in 2008.
