Have you seen a Dr.?

No, I have not seen a doctor.

It does not hurt, and there is no discomfort. Someone at work told me about a topical sauve you can apply.

without knowing what this lump could be, it's difficult to answer this questions. with that said I'm make an assumption that it could be an acne cyst. There are various acne treatments available which could be helpful. but in cases of cysts you are better of seeing a dematologist.

He may suggest some stronger medications or antibiotics such as accutane or minocycline.

 good luck.

I think it would be more appropriate to first ascertain the tissue or organ of origin of the lump before attempting to do anything. So pal what you need is prefferably a CT scan or atlest a X-ray/ ultrasound to check the nature of the swelling. Without this it may be little dicey to do any thing. Any way what was the cause of the lump to begin with? ie is it post traumatic, then it may be a calcified haematoma(blood collection).

So the take home message is to see a doctor.

regards

tyr PRIDS DRAWING SALVE...it can take quite awhile (like a Month) to work...but it sounds like a subaceous cyst...I would take the time to have it looked at by a doctor because you do not want anything harmful growing and not know it OK???...PLZ see a free clinic or something..look around they are out there...I beg you to have it looked at and then decide...if it is a cyst they just take them out...cause they do not go away...OK???

Hi, I too have a lump on the back of my neck, and my doctor in Boston said not to worry about it, even her backup doctor said the same thing. I\'m not sure, but think it is also the cause of my tinnitus, which is in the right ear, and the area from the lump (which is in the exact middle of the neck) to the right ear is sore, and something seems to swell up, like a gland. This causes cramps in whatever it is near the right ear. No one can give me an answer, but it is frustrating and sore. My doctort at Martin\'s Point in Maine claims it probably is arthritis of the neck, but says nothing else, and I really would like to know. Most of the time it is OK, but if I fall asleep and tilt my head, I awake in pain from a cramp. Maybe someone else can help....Thank You

there' alot of good answers been given to you so far. since it's been so long, try warm soaks to it on a routine basis (a simple face cloth soaked with really warm water-don't burn ya know) cover it with a dry towel. repeat regularly. actually, hope you had it checked by a professional.
