va beach residents chat about the decline in hospital care. Anyone in the Hampton Roads area, particularly in Virginia Beach, I would like to hear your stories to hear if they come close to the more than slipping care at a Beach local hospital. The care is substandard in most cases and completely unaccepable. Believe me, how many patients must die before management takes notice and begins to recognize this fact and management begins, if they even care, to do something to correct this intolerable idea. If you are an older adult, believe me the care will become worse. I believe rest homes are already warehousing patients, not taking care of them. And the local hospitals most certainly are not far behind. All one must do is go to an emergency room with say, pneumonia, then be warehoused, not see even one of several of the people who purports to be a nurse and wait for many hours before being connected to a heart monitor, etc. Yet being told, "don't have a heart attack". How would anyone know if one is not connected to even a heart monitor for at least four hours after arriving at the hospital. The place is absolutely filthy. A bathroom used by not only patients, but other people waiting on patients. No soap in the bathroom, filthy toilet and floors to mention a few. Not even one person to help disconnect my oxygen to allow me to relieve myself. I had to do it my self after many calls on my call button, of which I could not understand one word the answering person said. And, after hours of waiting, I finially had to do it my self. Still no help of any kind, although I came close to passing out and vomiing many times. If any other Beach or Hampton Roads residents have encountered anything like this, please lets chat about this. Believe me, I have no intention of taking any type of legal action against the facility. I only want to hear from others. And, for the record I am certain that many have received good care, so please don't think this is an attack on you or your loved ones or perhaps the doctors who helped you in your time of need. This is strictly for people who have been very ill, in my case trasported from my doctors office to the hospital because I was so ill, yet once upon arrival I was not treated for up to eight hours and the treatment was minimal at best. I look forward to hearing from others, I know you are out there. Please write. shelbe200@aol.com
