Many people have a certain thing that they do that they associate with smoking.  Maybe smoking after their meal or while on the phone, etc.  Try replacing smoking with chewing gum or sucking on a piece of hard candy.  When the urge is strong talk to someone who is supportive.  Of course there are smoking patches, gum and medication available.  I hope this helps!  Good Luck!

When you change the way you look at things, the things around you begin to change.   Dr. Wayne Dyer

My mother had smoked for 50 years, she said the best way for her way "cold turkey"  unfortunatelly for the rest of the family, it really would have been better for us to be on vacation while she was in withdrawls

Laughing.   She did have butterscotch and cinnamon disk around when it really got TOUGH.  However instead of trying not to think she had to eat all the time because of not smoking she would munch on carrots, celery, healthy  vegetables.

Have you ever considered trying acupuncture? My dad swears by it, it helped him quit smoking. Some people don't believe in it, but it might be worth a try. The video below has a guy talking about how it's supposed to work. Good luck and congrats on quitting!

I had a really hard time trying to quit smoking. I tried everything and the thing that made me succeed was the patch. The patch was my savior because my boyfriend told me that he has had it and will not go another day watching me slowly killing myself. See your body and brain are used to having a steady supply of nicotine and quiting cold turkey is really hard, nearly impossible from my experience. Try the patch. You can read more here about Nicoderm (the brand I used). Good luck and stick with it, you will feel better then ever.
