Yes. As with most any medical procedure, there is a chance of infection. If you have your teeth removed by a medical/dental professional they will tell you about the signs/symptoms to watch for. If you have BillyBob or one of his cousins do the job, you would be at an increased risk for complications. Surprised

If you are asking if you can still get sick in general- yes, also.

Please get in touch with a dentist for an evaluation and they will help you!

I had mine removed dec 2008 soon after I started going down hill health wise. Heart speeding up with little exercise or movement along with blood preasure, shorness of breath.  white blood count around 15000 with no culture growing anything. Now blone marrow biobsy showing infection and abnormalities. Doctors are baffled. Some even saying it is in my head. New doctor sending me to Hematologist specialist. I had absolutely no health problems before this, and now I have a page full of symptoms. I did have an infection afterwards that the dentist did not give me antibiotics for, when he removed a tooth fromt he top side he ripped my skin from my lip clear up around the gum, it cankured and I used peroxide it bubbled like crazy lasting for about a week, then I went back to have some bone removed he ripped another part of the skin the same as before causing the same infection. I am hoping with the new doctors someone can answer my questions and take me serious. Do you think they should be looking into this a little more concerning the teeth removal?

I think you should be evaluated by  the nearest "large" hospital in your state. This has gone on long enough.  If your dr won't give you the referral, you can just go through the Emergency Room of the big hospital. Granted, this may be costly, I don't know about your insurance, but something needs to be done.

I'll be praying for you! LinnLMT

Thank you so much, My Dr has referred me to a Hematologist/Oncologist at the University of Nebraska in Omaha. He said the same as you enough is enough. I go on the 26th, so my fingers are crossed. I really dont want anything to be wrong with me, but it will be so great to have some answers and maybe get my life back to normal, so tired of doing most everything from my bed, and to know I am not crazy as a couple doctors have thought. They have said that so much that when ever I see a new Doctor that is the first thing I say to them "I am not crazy". again thanks for taking the time.

I don't know if this will somehow answer your question.  I have a heart condition called MVP (mitral valve prolapse).  My cardiologist told me to advise him first before undergoing some dental procedures.  If you don't have any heart ailment and you follow your dentist's advise I don't think there's gonna be a problem.
