Allergy shots are considered to be very effective but it depends on how severe you allergy and on the kind of allergy you suffer from. The best result are achieved with patients suffering from insect stings allergies and dust mites allergies.

Live life to the fullest.

Allergy shots are effective in treating allergic asthma. The shots reduce symptoms in those allergic to pollens, animal dander, dust mites, mold, and cockroaches. Experts do not know how long allergy shots are effective after you stop getting the shots. For allergies to some grasses, shots have been effective for 3 or 4 years.

I have never took allergy shots but have tried over the counter medication like claritan. I find claritan to be very effective but that would depend on how bad you allergies are. Hope this helps

5 thumbs up

Allergy shots are used to help your body build a resistance to allergens that you are particularly allergic to.  The serum with which you are injected with is compounded of specific allergens which you tested sensitive to.  The dosage is increased over time, allowing your body to adjust and build immunities to the specific allergens.

I had allergy shots as a child, and while I did not notice a dramatic change, my allergies are much better as an adult.

Wink  Headphones: you can listen to music you like or keep other noise out.

I would like to share: My ex-sister-in-law died after receiving an allergy shot at age 30 leaving behind 4 children under age of 10.
