I guess you need to go see your doctor and have a long chat about things. Gingival or gum hyperplasia / overgrowth can happen with a number of medications and amlodipine is certainly one of them.
I suppose it all comes to a question of balance - you need to figure out how much benefit you get from your amlodipine against how bad the gum overgrowth is. There are other medications available that can treat high blood pressure - but they tend to bring their own range of side effects and problems too.
As I say - it's all a matter of weighing up the benefits that amlodipine is bringing you against the drawbacks or side effects
