Love with all my heart, forgive easily & quickly, peace whenever possible, hold tightly onto today, let go of yesterday, embrace each moment, & be a soild ground for my family to fall back on whenever it is needed. And always, always, I am ready to stop the world & listen.

Jeff, your question is age old, yet still a very good question. We are made of 3 parts; mind, body, & soul.  It's our nature to lean toward our own understanding rather than what God intended us to know in Him. What I mean is that we often look at life through our mind's eye instead of the eye of our soul.  When we do, we see problems, needs, responsibilities, etc., often losing sight of the moment we're experiencing. Worry is the opposite of faith & trust. When we learn to give our problems, needs, so forth to God, we're allowing Him to be in control, thus allowing ourselves the liberty, the freedom to enjoy what He has given us. Some of us by nature worry more than others. Pray, give whatever is bothering you to God, then go forth doing your best to enjoy life as it happens.  And when something hurtful occurs, remember, God is still on the throne, He is still there, able to hear our heart's cries, always waiting to comfort & restore. It takes practice to let go of worry, this doesn't mean we're to not be responsible but rather learn to enjoy the love & beauty in our lives. Whatever we feed within ourselves is what grows.  Feed doubt, fear, & worry....they increase.  Feed trust, faith, joy, & peace; they grow.

You're about to see a great change in your life because someone out here is praying for you & about this question. Let all of us know about the postive change that's going to occur! Your friend, Trisha

Because you have an active intelligent mind.  Sorry, you are screwed.  It is a hard problem to overcome.  A lobotomy is the short cut, but I wouldn't advise it.  I think possibly martial arts could help you as a mental exercise akin to yoga to focus your mind, and help you develop more self control mentally and physically.

Be honest and be true to yourself.

Hi Jeff,

Trisha gave you an excellent  beautiful advice, I gave her 2 thumbs up.  The reason why we worry a lot is that we don't really trust God to help us in all our problems and daily concerns.  If you put your trust in God and always think that He is there to do things to make your load a lot lighter, then you will have that peace of mind. You are in an age of a lot of emotional turmoil, trying to act mature when a  major part of your being is very immature.  This is an age of ambivalence.  Everyone of us has passed that stage. So the real answer to your question is to put  everything in God's hands.  He loves you so much and  just think that He will always be there for you if you just pause and talk to Him about everything that bothers you.

So many things bother me at times and I just have to tell myself that God is there for me, for everyone who calls on Him.

I hope that you will find peace of mind.  As I finish answering this question, I ask God to bless you and help you in everything that bothers you, to make your life easier, and for you to have a better relationship with your father.  I know your father loves you very much just like  any  parent.

God Bless you Jeff.
