What is an example of a happiness formula? What kind of actions must I take everday to be happy? Is there a formula or is it unique to each individual?
Love is the battery of life....
Hi,No, there is no formula for happiness. If such a formula existed we wouldn't have so many unhappy people in the wourld. That is too obvious and I wouldnt bother to post an answer. But I have some good advise: Happiness is in one's mind ! - It's how one see his life.... I'll give you my formula that works incrediblly well:1. If I get you get up in the morning healthy and energetic I feel happy and thank God.2. I see a nice tree. ut makes me happy. 3. I see the sun shinning, it makes me happy. 4. I see a fruit on a tree (that only 4 month ago stood bare without one leave) and it makes me happy (and full of wonder).5. My neighbour's smile makes me happy.I won't bother you, all those little (Big !) things make me happy. I know too many people who have a nice house and a nice Mercedece and still they are not happy...... just because their neighbour have a bigger house and a Jaguar..... They forget that there are millions who have nothing to eat and have no house ....... Teach yourself to enjoy the "little" things in life and you'll sure be happy. All the best,D"r D. Oron
Thanks for the reply. I guess your answer would be something like:
H = sum(small things)
where H = my happiness and
small things = taking joy in the small things in life.
Anything else to add to the formula? I think there is something about helping and contributing to others? It begs the question of why you replied to my question in the first place? Presumably, you were doing it to add more happiness (or perhaps the better word is fulfillment) to your life.
Any other opinions out there?

Hi,
No worries Oron! It's my pleasure. That must be part of my happiness formula! :-)
Studies also show that a large degree of our happiness can be correlated with being with other people.
The other element that I've been learning, is that there seems to be a biological or genetic set point for our happiness. Some people gravitate towards grumpiness and others gravitate to a state of happiness no matter what.
So maybe the formula could be:
H = Set Point + sum(small things) + generous acts + time with other people
Needs a little refinement....but good enough for now.
Yeehaw! Thanks!
Oh darn, where do include sweet things like chocolate, ice cream, and sex. Those things make me happy!
