What can I do if a non-custodial parents lives out ...

What can I do if a non-custodial parents lives out of state and refuses to return my 17 year old daughter even though the Judge has told him to. When I asked for an police escort so I could go get her I was told that I had to go through their court system (where he lives) because they will not recoginize my custody papers from my state without going through an attorney who will take them to a judge in his state to be recoginized. I do not have the money to do this, and do not understand although we have joint custody  I am the domicile parent, our attorney's had a phone conference with the my judge about this matter and he stated that he wanted her home until such time he could confer with her and he still refused to comply and my attorney is telling me there is nothing she can do until it is time for us to go to court on October 31.

HI,I don't understand why this parent has your chiold and will not retutn her back to you.Even after a court has order him to do so.HE is not the real parent you are.Your 17 year old child is old enough to speak out to say she wants to come home with you.Maybe there is a reason that she wants to be with him and not you.The 17 year old is almost that age that she can live on her own.So if she doesn't want to come home you should let her  be.You can also try to get some legal help not that it is going to help much.YOU can try.Have you tried to talk to your daughter alone and see what she thinks about this issue and what do she think should be done?
