I'm interested in:

How would you handle the following

My question: How would you handle the OCD part where I feel as if I have make sure the plastic bags full of clothes are all put away in the closet?  All of the bags up until now are in the closet and out of the way.  The ones in the plastic bags are the ones that I cannot hang up due to the fact that the clothes on the hangers have five items on each hanger. So I keep those in plastic bags.

I buy tons of clothes from the thrift store. BUT just to clarify the buying part of the clothes at the thrift store is NOT the Obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD) part. I just happen to like buying there.  This is something I just like to do. So please do not write in your answer that the buying is OCD because this is just something I enjoy.

But because my mother makes me feel anxious about storing the clothes I feel that I have to make sure all clothing items in plastic bags are/stay in the closet. Dont get me wrong I like it better when they are in the closet and up until now that is where all the hanging clothes and plastic bags full of clothes are and will stay.

However, there are two tiny plastic bags I cannot fit in the closet so they are in a corner behind my white wicker chair.   But I am starting to feel anxious because I still want to buy at the thrift store (although I will have to stop very soon) but I dont want to feel like my mom and feel that I cannot leave one to four bags behind the wicker chair.

So is it her feelings making me feel this way?

Any advice will be appreciated.

Voterperson,  Soon will will have to make a decision.  Now you have 2 bags behind the chair, since you cannot fit anymore into the closet.  You want to still shop, and then you will have 4 bags behind the chair.  What will you do when you cannot put any more bags behind the chair?  How about taking some time and go through your closet.  Go through all the bags.  Maybe you will find some things that you no longer care for, or don't fit properly anymore.  Then you can donate those back to the thrift store, and some one else can buy them and be happy with them.  This way you will make room for the newer items.  Votersperson, I think you really have to decide to do something different now.  Otherwise your clothes will pile up and pile up, and you have no where else to put them.  Please think about my idea.
