Why do hairdressers do not work on mondays ?

I want to cut my hair today because I know my hairdresser do not work on Mondays , I asked him once why is it Monday and not any other day. He said that it is a tradition, he also said that he do not know why and when it has started, but it has been so in his father time as well ( it is a family barber shop ) and it is kept by most of his co-workers. I told him today I will find it out for him, he said he would love that and in return he will give me a free haircut !

From what I heard ( and it is hard to base ) they hairdressers use to go out on sunday nights like any good christian citizen and they would stay up late. now in any other propulsion there is no danger in a sleepy Monday , but if you cut hair there is a danger.

Hairdresser do not work on Mondays because they work on Saturdays. We work on Saturdays because most people work Monday thru Friday and can not make it to the salon until Saturdays. By working Tuesday thru Saturday we make it more convinent for working people to make it to the Salon, and in turn Hairdresser can still have a 2 day weekend being Sunday and Monday. In recent years more Salon are begining to operate 7 days a week. You can find some of those Salons in you Mall. I hope you get your free haircut.
