In general you can't let it freeze. You shouldn't let the temperature reach even 40 degrees F. I don't know if heaters will do the trick.
I suggest you call up a company that deals with constructing pools. They will be able to give you the standard solution for such situations. It would be a shame to put in a lot of money and then find out that the gunite is cracked.
