1) Is there any option to dispute my insurance's refusal to cover the pediatricians that checked on my newborn in the hospital due to the fact that they are out of network doctors?
The hospital was in network but I later found out that some of the doctors that worked there were not in network for my plan. So they billed me seperately for the total of 30 minutes they spent with my son over two days to the tune of $1000. My insurance said the doctors were out of network and sent me a check for $7. How was I to know to stop everyone coming in and out and verify they took my plan. In fact I now know that none of the pediatricians in the hospital participate in my plan but the hospital is 'in network' so should I have refused all treatment for my son until I could get him to someone "in network"?..... Shameful.
