Not only do we have a program but it's rated the best in the state. I am getting together items to put out on the curb Tuesday. Glass, plastics, catalogs, newspapers etc. I also participated in "the green team"s seminar on composting. You paid 10-15 dollars , got an education and information PLUS a compost bin and a fertilizing compound. I would say that atleast 90% of the people participate. Plus we have drop off centers too. They are all convenient--just around the corner. This message comes to you from Youngstown , Ohio & I am proud of my community.

A penny saved  is a penny earned

Good for you pat. There give us contair's to fill and put out frontfor pick up.  Of course we for it once a year with are property taxes seperatly.  Is mor convience for me than having to take it to the dump.  2 times a year they picked stuff like ols stoves and ect.  We are still allowed to go to the dump if we want.  Like clear weeds and cleaning up.  With no extra charge.  I think it is nice that the school even partipate in doing this.  Even a box like the good will use to put out in front.  Kids exchanging clothes by recycle.

I recycle pretty packages i get a gift in.  And pretty bags a big gift comes in.  I use empty water bottles to fill with juice or kool aid and milk for on the go.  Saves on washing glasses and dont spill in the car.  Put your kids name on it.  Good for bithday parties decorated and name tag painted on and you have a cap on it if it gets spilled. And keeps bug outside of the drink outside.

Lots of little towns here in florida has big dumpsters to put trash in instead of throwing along side the road.  Everyone should help keep our united sttes clean. Just like there house.  You are living in your world, be proud of it.Wink

God bless

Don't worry, be Happy!

Yes, I live in San Diego, CA.  We have a very extensive recycling program sponsered by the City of San Diego Environmental Services Department.  We have a City Recycling Ordinance.  We receive a bag from the City for stashing our recyclibles in the house.  When it's full we take it out to the recycling bins and dump it's contents.  The bag is reusable.  Every Wednesday the recycling bins are emptied by the city.  We get very thorough written instructions on what can and can't be recycled.

I personally am very involved in protecting our environment.
