You could start by letting her do what the fuck she wants to do, she's gonna do drugs no matter what her family says. Just wait it out is all you can do, she'll either die or get better. Nobody can recover unless they're ready. Nobody can change unless they do it for themselves. And a little advice to yourself, just remember- You can only allow somebody to disappoint you for so long. Let her be Grandma. Shit.

I think the only way is you should get your granddaughter going to some drug treatment center or a drug rehabilitation center. i guess thats the only solution or the best way to help your granddaughter from a drug addiction.

I agree with Hannah - you need to send your granddaughter to some good drug abuse treatment center where she can completely overcome her addiction. I came across one good online resource whom you can call toll free @ 800-714-8354 and talk to their counselors for help.

Suit up and show up and you will realize we are not a glum lot.

First she must be seen by a psychiatrist in order to receive an accurate assessment and diagnosis. Then it is imperative that she take jher medication as it is prescribed. This is a vicous cycle because she probalby self medictates inorder to deal with her schizphrenia. Once she starts feeling better as a result of taking her meds as prescribed, I caution you that she may stop taking her psych meds. Then she will begin to self medicate again. Any psychiatrist she sees must coordinate care with a substance abuse provider who deals with dual diagnosis. Both providers must coordiante care as well as her primary doctor. She will have a tendency to manipulate all her care givers and providers. DON'T ALLOW THIS TO HAPPEN! Inform her entire support network you are trying to help her to find recovery. She may need to go to jail a couple more tomes before she decides to stop all her behaviors. As long as she keeps doing what she is doing, she will keep getting what she's getting. That also addresses if you keep making excuses for her she won't change her behaviors. Whent he consequences get severe enough she will be forced to look a ther part in all things. So, find out If she's ready to change. Ask if she's willing to do whatever it takes. find her a residential substance abuse facility who deals with dual diagnosis and you're on your way!!!! But is she willing??? If not, YOU NEED TO BACK OFF AND LET HER SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES OF HER CHOICES AND BEHAVIORS.
