Goldfish survive very well at room temperature, we've had the same fish for several years, they're happy at room temp and we feed them every couple of days. Don't overfeed them.
make sure you dont over feed them. what kind of goldfishare you getting? (orcanda,fantail,common,comet,ext.) because the species also determines the tank size you will need
