Seems like your fish is having Constipation. It might be caused by too much rich food and not enough fibers. A salt bath, which would cause your fish to absorb more water might release the block he suffers from. Constipation might cause also for the fish's color to fade, but not scale drop. The scale drop is a common symptom of parasites. You can get a special formula at your local pet shop which you should add to the water, in order to get rid of those parasites.

Diseases such as falling scales, typical of parasite infection, are extremely contagious. You should put that fish in a separate tank and add a medication suggested by a pet shop.

Also, you could try feeding your goldfish different types of fruits and veggetables...see what they like eating. Mine like oranges and peas.

If your fish ever get constipated, try feeding them some peas, because I've heard they're supposed to help.

Just make sure what you feed them is small enough and soft enough so that they don't choke or get hurt

I've had my Goldfish for seven years and he was just a feeder fish that i saved! When he gets constipated i put aquarium salt a couple of teaspoons and feed him a couple of peas uncooked and take the shells off. It helps him everytime!
