What is going on with my body?

I was started on Levoxyl (dye-free) 1 year ago--the dr. tried Synthroid first and found I was allergic to the binders in Synthroid, the blood test was the TSH, which was 3.8 and she said I had Hasimoto disease. I started feeling very anxious and could not sleep for numerous nights after my gallbladder surgery June 1, 2009. I have been walking everyday for 1 1/2 years and I have thus far lost 41 lbs. and then I ended up having to have a surprise gallbladder attack which resulted in surgery and terrible after effects from the anesethic. The doctor did a blood test and it was determined I have an abnormal CVP 2D6 so she has to be careful what kind of medicine I am given plus I am allergic to sulfa, phenobarbital, barbituates, codeine and shellfish. I was given Lunesta 2mg. to help me sleep. My legs have been achey and I have had no pep and of course very anxious due to not feeling well. I then went to get a 2nd opinion and this dr. did blood work that showed my TSH was 3.5, T3, Free 225, Thyroid Peroxidase 44, DHEA Sulfate 197, Testosterone, Total 50, Vitamin D, 25-OH, Total 31 I was put on Armour thryoid 60 mg. Vitamin D3 5000 I have been on this combination for 5 weeks, still not sleeping well, very tired, my breasts appear to be a bit swollen, my thumbs seem stiff in the a.m. like I have fluid in them, and vaginal area is still extremely dry. I am a 62 year old postmenopausal female who until 1 year ago felt great and slept about 6 hours a night. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Smile, it's contagious!

Your post-menopausal.  A drop in female hormones causes lots of bodily changes.  Your thyroid level is good.  Normal TSH is 0-5.  If it was too low it would cause sleeplessness.  Too high and it would cause constant sleepiness.  Stiffness in thumbs is probably arthritis.  Vaginal dryness is normal for post-menopausal.  If it is a problem use KY gel or other lubricant.  For sleeping problems try changing your routine before bed to one more relaxing without the caffeine or other stimulant beverages such as colas. Room darkening shades may help. And, no watching tv in bed.  Reading may help as long as it is not stimulating the senses to cause you to stay awake longer.  Congratulations on the weight loss.  Keep up the good work on that.  Other than that your in good shape generally.  Just keep all medical appointments, stay up to date with preventive testing, and get all vaccinations (Pneumonia, seasonal flu, and N1H1 if recommended by your physician).  Don't forget to take Calcium to prevent osteoporosis.    Stay well ~ C1

Bonnie,  I agree with Citrine1.  I also take thyroid medication for Hypothyroidism.  The Lunesta is probably what is dragging you down everyday.  I tried it for a short time and didn't like it.  The doctor switched me to generic Ambien for a short time, and that was much better, and much cheaper.  I no longer need Ambien.  I sleep fine now.  I also had my gall bladder removed, just last August.  I had to have the old fashioned surgery, as the doctor could not find my gall bladder in the scope.  The only effects I have are soreness and numbness under the cut.  Anyway, ask your doctor about trying Ambien, and see if it works any better for you.

Wow Bonnie, It sounds like you have many things to talk about. I kind of got 'lost' after the '41 lbs'..!  I was so captured by your monologue that I needed to respond.  In another context it could be used very well as 'stand-up comic routine. All kidding aside peace of mind works wonders for me. So... These are my 2 cents:

  1. Turn off your T.V.
  2. Unplug your T.V.
  3. Do not plug your T.V. back in for rest of your life..?  Well that might be a bit too much to ask so how about 1 week to start and you can work up to the 'life' thing.

On more thing: Goto FalunDafa.org and learn how to do Qigong.  It's easy and simple to do and has the ability to completely restore your health rapidly as well as your peace of mind. You can download free videos of all 5 exercises and learn them in about a week... Love and Light... Gary
