As a gift, how do you store before giving it

I want to buy a humidor and some cigars as a christmas present for someone. If I order it now, how should I store the cigars?I don't want to open the humidor or the wrapped cigars. Thanks!

Usually companies like this will allow you to set the date of delivery so that you get the cigars just in time to give them so that they remain fresh.  If not, order them as close to the "giving date" as possible and do an over-night delivery method. Your last option, if you want or need to order the cigars now is to open the humidor and put the cigars in it.

Cigars can be stored for a few weeks in any location that does not get direct sunlight, excessive heat or lack of humidity. In other words, you can store them in their box and in their cellophanes for a while without a problem as long as you keep them at room temperature and with adequate environmental humidity. Another excellent short term storing solution is to keep the cigars in the vegetable section of the refrigerator with the humidity level turned to the highest level. Just remember that you are better off not removing the cellophane. Cigars get better with time and the longer that they are aged, the better they taste.
