By the way - the comment about getting dog poo in a child's eye is pretty ridiculous. And it is pretty impossible for a pregnant woman to get sick from a dog. "Gem" clearly has not been around many dogs in her life. There are millions of families in the world with children and pregnant women and dogs, and there are aboslutely no health warnings from doctors. I understand that you want the best for your children. And as a child psychologist, I have dedicated my life to helping children. So let me assure you that IT IS COMPLETELY SAFE TO HAVE PREGNANT WOMEN, CHILDREN, AND DOGS TOGETHER. (Assuming the dog is not aggressive, of course.) I know plenty of families with young children and dogs. And the mothers usually had the dog first, and so was pregnant around the dog. It is safe. Two of my closest friends were just pregnant and still took care of their dogs. And, unless you plan to put poo in the child's eye, you really dont have to worry about that one. As a pregnant woman you may want to wear latex gloves when you pick up the dog's poo, but it isnt necessary.
