Hi hatchman133,

Cucumber is a summer plant, meaning they don't like too much water. They need only small amount of water in their growing period. So, don't apply too much water, they will be susceptible to bacterial wilt which is a common disease of cucumber species.

The amount of fertilizer needed by cucumber will depend on the kinds of soil. If the soil is fertile you need to apply only enough to sustain their growth, but potash fertilizer is required during fruiting stage to have  a sweet fruits.

Happy gardening.
