im trying to play nba live 07 with my recoil gamepad but it doesnt
work except when i press start when i bypass the intro...what am i doing
wrong or what can i do?

3rd party hardware generally doesn't work very well on the Microsoft Xbox systems. This is because they want you to buy their stuff, and the 3rd party hardware honestly isn't as quality as Microsoft's.
If it works after pressing start, you are lucky that is the worst problem and I would not worry about it.
