Be careful though. Some sites would ask you to pay for "membership" before you are given work as a game tester.  I'm not sure about that as I would want to know what I'm getting and some of them are not gonna tell you what you're gonna get by paying their registration fee.  Stay away from scams, do your research.

To be a game tester you have to know a lot of programming becomes games are basically run with high end programms and still be able to play the game and know how to crack them like a normal player.

I got lucky and was hired as a game tester by a small company about 2 years ago. It was a dream-job. Basically, I don't think most companies pay game testers, but have QA teams to test all game features. When the game hits Beta stage, you allow many people to play it so you can find the bugs that you couldn't.

As opposed to what was written, I don't believe testers need to be programmers. They have to be meticulous and persistent.
