Bridesmaid
Always the bridesmaid, never the bride.or so the old saying goes. If you have been recruited by a friend or family to stand up for them in their wedding as a bridesmaid or groomsman, remember this is an honor, even if the dress is bad.

At a formal wedding pouring coffee would be a caterer's job. A toast is done by the bestman. Perhaps the best use of a friend would be to see that the musicians are prepared for the evening. As they are least likely to be given consideration when it comes to taking a break someone needs to see they are satiated. This is something most likely to be forgotten by the hosts and could use an extra hand. Also, keep in mind that you do not want to step on the toes of any hired help or disrupt the plans of the 'happy couple'. Even if they should choose not to use your help remember it is a formal affair and is usually attended to by previously arranged staff selected for the function. Enjoy the event and do not concern yourself with how you can help.
