Today while Stacy’s car was being fixed Stacy and her mom decided to go to Lord & Taylor’s and her mom would drive (her mom has her own car). While they were at Lord & Taylor’s Stacy purchased a pair of light blue summer pants that was originally $78.00 reduced to $38.98 but with 20% off and plus some it came to $15.00.
Mom: “You don’t have to buy the pants, You are not working and to spend $15.00 is a lot. I am not buying the skirt suit because I did not bring the gift card and I did not want to pay full price”
Stacy purchased the pants. When they were out of the store the following conversation took place:
Mom: “I am going to wait for the skirt suit to go on sale.”
Stacy: “Mom when you said I should not buy the pants are you including the 99 cent store”
Mom: “No that is different.”
Stacy: “How”
Mom: “It is really just like the cost of a lunch, but here you are only buying one item for $15.00. I don’t care that when you go to the 99 cent store and you buy blazers, sweaters, blouses but how many do you need ”
Stacy’s mom then dropped Stacy off at the repair shop so Stacy could pick up her car. Stacy then went to the 99 cent store, came home with four blouses.
Stacy: “Do you want me to show you what I purchased at the 99 cent store?”
Mom: “NO because I don’t care”
My question: Can Stacy accept the fact that her mother does not care about the 99 cent store and what Stacy buys there?
