No day in which you learn something is a complete loss.
I am on the lookout for a new fridge and I cam across a strange phenomenon. Refrigerators with bottom freezers generally cost more. Why is that? Is it just because they haven't been around long and price will go down gradually or is there a real reason for the difference?
They're coming to take me away, Ha-haaa!

I don't think its related to the fact that they are relatively new. It's more of a branding issue.
Most of the bottom freezers fridges are usually from one of the big and costly companies (at least the ones I saw) so I think it has to do more with that than with anything else.
You may be right. Although I did check the internet and noticed that less known brands who sell both offer higher prices for their bottom freeze fridges.
