Adopted kids birth records?
For I how long are these documents kept sealed?
My friend's natural mother thought he could access his birth record when he turned 18. He wanted to access it when he was 12 or 13, so his mother contacted the adoption agency to ask whether or not she could tell him anything. That's when he learned the record was sealed for ever.
Sorry to disappoint you.
Anne is right, the general public doesn't even know they are sealed, or that the adopted person has a (fake) birth certificate.
I hope that the law will change soon.
