some employers also do a criminal background check and credit records check. some also use law enforcement for more detailed criminal checks. what information is gathered depends on the service that is used for the checks, background checks fall under all the guidelines and laws regarding the reporting of consumer credit

all a free criminal background check does is check if you have been charged with or convicted of a felony crime or one that is classified as a "gross misdemeanor" offense. If one have not broken any laws no worry- It's to determine if you are trust worthy.
Call the records division of the court you were convicted in, and ask them what the procedure is to obtain the record. They'll have a form for you to fill out and a charge to get it. They may refer you to the police department, same routine. Takes a while to get one unless you can walk in there and put the request in person.
They check if you have any criminal behavior , a credit check because somebody with really bad credit is a poor risk, too. how yopu handle your money and live within your means, or more apt to steal from the company than someone with a good credit rating.
Depernds on the type of background search the company does. Not all companies do nationwide U.S. background checks because it cost to much money. Some will only do state wide or county.
