My catholic friend whom i know for 3 yrs, did not ...

My catholic friend whom i know for 3 yrs, did not manage to convince his current gf to convert to catholic. I wasn't a catholic when I knew him and I had a bf then but now I am back singlehood. I converted to Catholic last year. He feels that the current relationship with his gf is bringing him nowhere if she refused to be baptized. Now, he is trying to date me to see if we work out. Should I accept his date? His priest said better for him to marry a catholic gal. We met last weekend and he hold my hand.

Love is the battery of life....

Hi,
Let him first terminate his relations with his present girlfriend.... only after doing that you can accept his date.  IT will be totally unfair if you accept it before that..... and if he does it to her he will (most probablly) do it to you (later on) as well....  Sorry to say it but something makes me feel bad about this guy (something about his honesty bothers me).
Best regards,

tintin,

This man needs to be on his own for a few years, should he decide to end his current relationship with his gf.  If you get involved with him on the rebound from her, it will be a short relationship and possibly the end of a friendship.  I hope you realize this when considering dating him.  A man that jumps from relationship to relationship is most likely repeating past mistakes.  Do you want to be at the receiving of that and risk losing the friendship that you currently have with him?

Blessings,

You're kidding, he lets religion get in the way of relationships? Too bad for him.

Wow. It sounds like he is moving too fast and needs to consider many factors -- not just the person's religion -- before dating them (no offense to you, but his decision seems hasty!). He may be right for you, and you may be right for him, but it seems like more thought has to go into all this. If he IS curious about dating a Catholic, I recommend he checks out some Christian dating websites, which actually includes Catholics, Baptists, EVERYTHING -- here is a link with some good comparisons:
