I Just came back from FNCE2007 the main trade show for the nutrition space in the US. The one thing that I saw that is as good as olive oil might be Peanut Butter (if you are not allergic) and I think Avocado can also be considered to have the traits of olive oil.

But here is the thing, I get all my advice LIVE from Professionals on a new site called:

 http://nutrition.bitwine.com

You need to try that as well.

If you need a specific advisor, here is one for example.

Thanks

Strange question! Why not eat/use both? If you're asking for health reasons, you'll get more beneficial effects from the oil - simply because you'll use more of it. You might use a tablespoon of oil on a salad, but you'd have to eat maybe twenty or more olives to get the equivalent amount of oil from the fruit. Both are good for you; use extra-virgin olive oil from first cold pressing of olives (make sure the bottle says that, as well!). But you should eat food you enjoy - if you don't like olives or olive oil, use another oil. Try avocado on salads and grapeseed or rapeseed oil for cooking - both are very good for you.
