What flowering plants should I use to give my East Texas home more curb appeal when we sell it in mid-May?

I live in East Texas and am putting my home on the market around mid-May. Do you have any suggestions for adding "color" to the front of my home in the way of flowers? The front of my home faces west, so it gets the hot sun. I already have schrubs in the front, but I need color. What flowering plants do best in the Texas heat and are the least expensive? If I had my "rathers", I would prefer a flower with a larger bloom to be more easily seen from the road. What do you suggest?

As part of what is called xeriscaping (a new form of landscaping), consider incorporating the use of water-conservative plants.  They are just as beautiful and plentiful as that of regular plants, yet use a lot LESS water, which is important for you money-wise, as water utility costs have skyrocketed across the country.

Here's a link to a handy site that lists all the water-conservative plants available:

Also, here are some GREAT tips to make your house MORE sellable:

Good luck!
