Love is the battery of life....

Hi,
You can't make it float or not (all depends on the specific gravity: > than 1 will sink, < 1 will float).  If you want the food to float you should ask at the pet shop for that (flakes will do).
Best regards,

I used the pellet type on fish food, because they float in the water. As long as it has not totally absorbed the water, it would remain floating. The good thing about pellet is that it does not dirt the aquarium easily because it is not powder type.

fish food will float due to the amount of carbohydrates in the food.  fish have different food requirements.  some need more protein some need more vegatables in their diet.  they sell floating and sinking food, just read the label to be sure you are feeding the proper food.

Your direction, not your intention, determines your destination

The flake type fish food will float for a while but when it absorbs enough water, it will sink like everything else. Fish can go to the bottom and eat some of the food deposited there.Ask at the pet store what is the best food for your type of fish, and which ones leave the least deposits, which is just waste.
