Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?
Sounds like you have a short in the alarm. Another possibility is if you have if you have a smoke alarm that also detects CO2, then perhaps there is a CO2 problem in your house that needs to be checked out.
Do not use the emergency number but call your local fire department. Ask them for advice or help. Firemen are glad to keep your fire alarm in good working order. They do not want you to be tempted to take it out . If there is a CO2 problem they can probably help with that too.
You can simply ask help to any technician. Usually they do have this electrical tester to determine whether your security alarms are functioning or not. In that way, it's easier to detect the problem.
