from what I understand, you must wait to see if the Govenor in your particular state is going to let the federal law become state law in each individual state. its a day by day waiting game and you just have to keep checking your own states governing decision. Call your state unemployment office. they will tell you that it is now federal law but that you have to wait to file for the extension when the govenor says you can. some govenors may be bastards about it. some may pass it on to you. depends on who ya got in there. just keep calling the unemployment office every day, they are waiting to know as well. thats the way I understood it from my particular state. I live out of state now as well, as to that part of your question, you file your extension with the last state you worked in. so even if you moved, you will still have rights to the extension if it is passed in your state. call the state you left and refile.
