can I file bankfuptcy with baank that boughtmy student loan from govv? In otherwords gov received payment for student loan from bank, Now I have a loan w/citicorp...and, cannot pay. I receive pension now under $10,000 year and I am unable to work at a job. I am profoundly death, have fecal incontinence that I constantly try to locate meds or herbs to help me, to no avail...This all occurred from chemo treatment of colonrectal cancer. I now hae a benign tumor to the upper left side of my brain that I am just beginning having observed. Also, I have been excused from making payments on this loan since 1998 first from the school ...then, from the bank who bought loan....even tho I asked so many years to apply for a forgivemenss clause to be applied because I cannot hold a job and because I live on below poverty income. Another question, If one couldnt file bankruptcy for government student loans - what has changed when the banking business paid the government that loan. Now, they direct my attention for money owed them...because they exercised a right to approach a student convince them they owed govt student loans, and, that the sudent would benefit if they consolidated money owed (the gov.,called student loans)....but, were no longer owed by the govt , as the bank paid off the loan, and was able to re-sell the loan to me as one of their loans. They wont okay any forgiveness cloaue at all....they bought that too with the deal they conducted w/bank....yet, they dont seem to want to act on it. What do I do???I have no house, no caf, furniture is from 2nd hand stores, garage sales, swap metes, top of trash containers....I grocer shop often at 99 cent store, i pay some for meds, herbs, over the ccounter meds too, ....Just let me know what is my best move.
