I feel ulcerated colitis IS infectious

Although most doctors deny ulcerative colitis is contagious, I am beginning to doubt this. Once a week for the past 6 months a friend with ulcerative colitis has been making hamburgers for me. For the next 3 days after consuming her food, I have awful runny diarrhea. I have not eaten food cooked by her for the past 3 weeks and things are back to normal with me. I gave some of her burgers to another relative - same symptoms with him, for the 3 days following consumption. Making burgers consists of excessive handling of food. Is it not possible that some people could be infected - even if only for a few days?

i love food... really any food

I think that it's more possible that there's something wrong with your friend's food... she's either not buying good stuff or not cooking it right.  Stomach disorders like colitis are just not contagious.

It sounds more like the issue is with the preparation of the food. Dirty workspace perhaps? Not cooked properly. I am surprised you ate it every week for 6 months.
